Why? Believe it or not (hold onto your mouse) not everyone is going to buy something the first time they visit your site. One of the best ways to remind folks that you are still kicking is with a newsletter. I will be frank here and tell you that putting out a good ezine is a lot of work, but the benefits are there.

Some Questions to Ask

How often do I publish it?
This is entirely up to you and how much time that you have. Monthly, bi-monthly, occasionally, daily and weekly are only some of the choices. The main thing is how much time do you have and how often your subscribers want to hear from you.

What to Include
I read somewhere that a good rule of thumb is 80 – 20. Eighty percent of your ezine should be new information that is useful for your niche, 20 percent should be advertising your site and products. You can include things like: your latest specials, new products, introducing new pages and features of your site, etc.

Many people neglect one of the easiest ways to promote your own site.. your signature file in your email. These 4 or 5 lines can advertise your business. They don't have to be fancy (although they can be). Insert your name, small business description and links. You will be surprised how many folks click on it. It helps if it can answer the following questions – who, what, where, when, how.
