Hope you are warm, safe, and dry. We've had some wild weather here lately, as many folks in the NE are (or soon will be) digging out. In the central part of Ky. they got a huge ice storm and nearly 50k or so folks are without power. In our neck of the woods it rained, and rained - almost 5 inches. Needless to say it flooded. Our house is fine, since we live on a cliff - but we were stranded for most of the day yesterday as most of the roads were flooded. You can catch some pictures of the swamp at the link below.

That's not our house - it is one of our friends and as you can tell they've experienced this before as the house is basically on stilts. Most of the damage there comes from backwater, when the river is full and the creek has nowhere to go.

Creating a Screen Saver

Both of these methods (creating a screen saver and tutorial) are most effective when used virally - you post them on their site, someone gets it, sends it to their friend etc.

A screensaver needs to either be beautiful or useful or both to your visitor, otherwise they won't download it and the life on their computer screen will be short.

Creating a Tutorial

Creating a tutorial can be great to promote your business, especially if you keep hearing the same questions over and over again. This could also be a good fre*ebie to give a way as a lead in for a bigger product.

Example - Everyone and there brother has been asking you about how to tie a certain knot for fly fishing - you create a tutorial on how to do it, then create another one for advanced users.

Again there are many ways to do this - you can create a flash tutorial, use a combination of screen shots, video your demonstration, create a pdf, or all of the above.
